17:46
وَ جَعَلْ نَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ هِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُ و هُ وَ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِ هِمْ وَقْرًا وَ إِذَا ذَكَرْ تَ رَبَّ كَ فِى ٱلْ قُرْءَانِ وَحْدَ هُۥ وَلَّ وْا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَدْبَٰرِ هِمْ نُفُورًا
And We have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And when you mention your Lord alone in the Qur'an, they turn back in aversion.
18:18
وَ تَحْسَبُ هُمْ أَيْقَاظًا وَ هُمْ رُقُودٌ وَ نُقَلِّبُ هُمْ ذَاتَ ٱلْ يَمِينِ وَ ذَاتَ ٱل شِّمَالِ وَ كَلْبُ هُم بَٰسِطٌ ذِرَاعَيْ هِ بِ ٱلْ وَصِيدِ لَوِ ٱطَّلَعْ تَ عَلَيْ هِمْ لَ وَلَّيْ تَ مِنْ هُمْ فِرَارًا وَ لَ مُلِئْ تَ مِنْ هُمْ رُعْبًا
And you would think them awake, while they were asleep. And We turned them to the right and to the left, while their dog stretched his forelegs at the entrance. If you had looked at them, you would have turned from them in flight and been filled by them with terror.
21:57
وَ تَ ٱللَّهِ لَ أَكِيدَ نَّ أَصْنَٰمَ كُم بَعْدَ أَن تُوَلُّ وا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ
And [I swear] by Allah, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away."
27:10
وَ أَلْقِ عَصَا كَ فَ لَمَّا رَءَا هَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّ هَا جَآنٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَ لَمْ يُعَقِّبْ يَٰ مُوسَىٰ لَا تَخَفْ إِنِّ ى لَا يَخَافُ لَدَىَّ ٱلْ مُرْسَلُونَ
And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.
27:80
إِنَّ كَ لَا تُسْمِعُ ٱلْ مَوْتَىٰ وَ لَا تُسْمِعُ ٱل صُّمَّ ٱل دُّعَآءَ إِذَا وَلَّ وْا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ
Indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs retreating.
28:31
وَ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَا كَ فَ لَمَّا رَءَا هَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّ هَا جَآنٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَ لَمْ يُعَقِّبْ يَٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَقْبِلْ وَ لَا تَخَفْ إِنَّ كَ مِنَ ٱلْ ءَامِنِينَ
And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it was a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, approach and fear not. Indeed, you are of the secure.
2:115
وَ لِ لَّهِ ٱلْ مَشْرِقُ وَ ٱلْ مَغْرِبُ فَ أَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّ وا۟ فَ ثَمَّ وَجْهُ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you [might] turn, there is the Face of Allah. Indeed, Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.
2:142
سَ يَقُولُ ٱل سُّفَهَآءُ مِنَ ٱل نَّاسِ مَا وَلَّىٰ هُمْ عَن قِبْلَتِ هِمُ ٱلَّتِى كَانُ وا۟ عَلَيْ هَا قُل لِّ لَّهِ ٱلْ مَشْرِقُ وَ ٱلْ مَغْرِبُ يَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
The foolish among the people will say, "What has turned them away from their qiblah, which they used to face?" Say, "To Allah belongs the east and the west. He guides whom He wills to a straight path."
2:144
قَدْ نَرَىٰ تَقَلُّبَ وَجْهِ كَ فِى ٱل سَّمَآءِ فَ لَ نُوَلِّيَ نَّ كَ قِبْلَةً تَرْضَىٰ هَا فَ وَلِّ وَجْهَ كَ شَطْرَ ٱلْ مَسْجِدِ ٱلْ حَرَامِ وَ حَيْثُ مَا كُن تُمْ فَ وَلُّ وا۟ وُجُوهَ كُمْ شَطْرَ هُۥ وَ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُ وا۟ ٱلْ كِتَٰبَ لَ يَعْلَمُ ونَ أَنَّ هُ ٱلْ حَقُّ مِن رَّبِّ هِمْ وَ مَا ٱللَّهُ بِ غَٰفِلٍ عَ مَّا يَعْمَلُ ونَ
We have certainly seen the turning of your face, [O Muhammad], toward the heaven, and We will surely turn you to a qiblah with which you will be pleased. So turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram. And wherever you [believers] are, turn your faces toward it [in prayer]. Indeed, those who have been given the Scripture well know that it is the truth from their Lord. And Allah is not unaware of what they do.
2:148
وَ لِ كُلٍّ وِجْهَةٌ هُوَ مُوَلِّي هَا فَ ٱسْتَبِقُ وا۟ ٱلْ خَيْرَٰتِ أَيْنَ مَا تَكُونُ وا۟ يَأْتِ بِ كُمُ ٱللَّهُ جَمِيعًا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
For each [religious following] is a direction toward which it faces. So race to [all that is] good. Wherever you may be, Allah will bring you forth [for judgement] all together. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.
2:149
وَ مِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْ تَ فَ وَلِّ وَجْهَ كَ شَطْرَ ٱلْ مَسْجِدِ ٱلْ حَرَامِ وَ إِنَّ هُۥ لَ لْ حَقُّ مِن رَّبِّ كَ وَ مَا ٱللَّهُ بِ غَٰفِلٍ عَ مَّا تَعْمَلُ ونَ
So from wherever you go out [for prayer, O Muhammad] turn your face toward al- Masjid al-Haram, and indeed, it is the truth from your Lord. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.
2:150
وَ مِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْ تَ فَ وَلِّ وَجْهَ كَ شَطْرَ ٱلْ مَسْجِدِ ٱلْ حَرَامِ وَ حَيْثُ مَا كُن تُمْ فَ وَلُّ وا۟ وُجُوهَ كُمْ شَطْرَ هُۥ لِ ئَ لَّا يَكُونَ لِ ل نَّاسِ عَلَيْ كُمْ حُجَّةٌ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُ وا۟ مِنْ هُمْ فَ لَا تَخْشَ وْ هُمْ وَ ٱخْشَ وْ نِى وَ لِ أُتِمَّ نِعْمَتِ ى عَلَيْ كُمْ وَ لَعَلَّ كُمْ تَهْتَدُ ونَ
And from wherever you go out [for prayer], turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram. And wherever you [believers] may be, turn your faces toward it in order that the people will not have any argument against you, except for those of them who commit wrong; so fear them not but fear Me. And [it is] so I may complete My favor upon you and that you may be guided.
2:177
لَّيْسَ ٱلْ بِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّ وا۟ وُجُوهَ كُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْ مَشْرِقِ وَ ٱلْ مَغْرِبِ وَ لَٰكِنَّ ٱلْ بِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِ ٱللَّهِ وَ ٱلْ يَوْمِ ٱلْ ءَاخِرِ وَ ٱلْ مَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَ ٱلْ كِتَٰبِ وَ ٱل نَّبِيِّۦنَ وَ ءَاتَى ٱلْ مَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّ هِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْ قُرْبَىٰ وَ ٱلْ يَتَٰمَىٰ وَ ٱلْ مَسَٰكِينَ وَ ٱبْنَ ٱل سَّبِيلِ وَ ٱل سَّآئِلِينَ وَ فِى ٱل رِّقَابِ وَ أَقَامَ ٱل صَّلَوٰةَ وَ ءَاتَى ٱل زَّكَوٰةَ وَ ٱلْ مُوفُونَ بِ عَهْدِ هِمْ إِذَا عَٰهَدُ وا۟ وَ ٱل صَّٰبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْ بَأْسَآءِ وَ ٱل ضَّرَّآءِ وَ حِينَ ٱلْ بَأْسِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُ وا۟ وَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْ مُتَّقُونَ
Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.
30:52
فَ إِنَّ كَ لَا تُسْمِعُ ٱلْ مَوْتَىٰ وَ لَا تُسْمِعُ ٱل صُّمَّ ٱل دُّعَآءَ إِذَا وَلَّ وْا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ
So indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs, retreating.
31:7
وَ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْ هِ ءَايَٰتُ نَا وَلَّىٰ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَ أَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْ هَا كَأَنَّ فِىٓ أُذُنَيْ هِ وَقْرًا فَ بَشِّرْ هُ بِ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.
33:15
وَ لَ قَدْ كَانُ وا۟ عَٰهَدُ وا۟ ٱللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّ ونَ ٱلْ أَدْبَٰرَ وَ كَانَ عَهْدُ ٱللَّهِ مَسْـُٔولًا
And they had already promised Allah before not to turn their backs and flee. And ever is the promise to Allah [that about which one will be] questioned.
3:111
لَن يَضُرُّ و كُمْ إِلَّآ أَذًى وَ إِن يُقَٰتِلُ و كُمْ يُوَلُّ و كُمُ ٱلْ أَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُ ونَ
They will not harm you except for [some] annoyance. And if they fight you, they will show you their backs; then they will not be aided.
40:33
يَوْمَ تُوَلُّ ونَ مُدْبِرِينَ مَا لَ كُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ عَاصِمٍ وَ مَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَ مَا لَ هُۥ مِنْ هَادٍ
The Day you will turn your backs fleeing; there is not for you from Allah any protector. And whoever Allah leaves astray - there is not for him any guide.
46:29
وَ إِذْ صَرَفْ نَآ إِلَيْ كَ نَفَرًا مِّنَ ٱلْ جِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُ ونَ ٱلْ قُرْءَانَ فَ لَمَّا حَضَرُ و هُ قَالُ وٓا۟ أَنصِتُ وا۟ فَ لَمَّا قُضِىَ وَلَّ وْا۟ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِ هِم مُّنذِرِينَ
And [mention, O Muhammad], when We directed to you a few of the jinn, listening to the Qur'an. And when they attended it, they said, "Listen quietly." And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners.
48:22
وَ لَوْ قَٰتَلَ كُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُ وا۟ لَ وَلَّ وُا۟ ٱلْ أَدْبَٰرَ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُ ونَ وَلِيًّا وَ لَا نَصِيرًا
And if those [Makkans] who disbelieve had fought you, they would have turned their backs [in flight]. Then they would not find a protector or a helper.
4:115
وَ مَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱل رَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَ هُ ٱلْ هُدَىٰ وَ يَتَّبِعْ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنِينَ نُوَلِّ هِۦ مَا تَوَلَّىٰ وَ نُصْلِ هِۦ جَهَنَّمَ وَ سَآءَتْ مَصِيرًا
And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination.
54:45
سَ يُهْزَمُ ٱلْ جَمْعُ وَ يُوَلُّ ونَ ٱل دُّبُرَ
[Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat].
59:12
لَ ئِنْ أُخْرِجُ وا۟ لَا يَخْرُجُ ونَ مَعَ هُمْ وَ لَ ئِن قُوتِلُ وا۟ لَا يَنصُرُ ونَ هُمْ وَ لَ ئِن نَّصَرُ و هُمْ لَ يُوَلُّ نَّ ٱلْ أَدْبَٰرَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُ ونَ
If they are expelled, they will not leave with them, and if they are fought, they will not aid them. And [even] if they should aid them, they will surely turn their backs; then [thereafter] they will not be aided.
6:129
وَ كَ ذَٰلِكَ نُوَلِّى بَعْضَ ٱل ظَّٰلِمِينَ بَعْضًۢا بِ مَا كَانُ وا۟ يَكْسِبُ ونَ
And thus will We make some of the wrongdoers allies of others for what they used to earn.
8:15
يَٰٓ أَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُ وٓا۟ إِذَا لَقِي تُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُ وا۟ زَحْفًا فَ لَا تُوَلُّ و هُمُ ٱلْ أَدْبَارَ
O you who have believed, when you meet those who disbelieve advancing [for battle], do not turn to them your backs [in flight].
8:16
وَ مَن يُوَلِّ هِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ دُبُرَ هُۥٓ إِلَّا مُتَحَرِّفًا لِّ قِتَالٍ أَوْ مُتَحَيِّزًا إِلَىٰ فِئَةٍ فَ قَدْ بَآءَ بِ غَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَ مَأْوَىٰ هُ جَهَنَّمُ وَ بِئْسَ ٱلْ مَصِيرُ
And whoever turns his back to them on such a day, unless swerving [as a strategy] for war or joining [another] company, has certainly returned with anger [upon him] from Allah, and his refuge is Hell - and wretched is the destination.
9:25
لَ قَدْ نَصَرَ كُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِى مَوَاطِنَ كَثِيرَةٍ وَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ إِذْ أَعْجَبَتْ كُمْ كَثْرَتُ كُمْ فَ لَمْ تُغْنِ عَن كُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَ ضَاقَتْ عَلَيْ كُمُ ٱلْ أَرْضُ بِ مَا رَحُبَتْ ثُمَّ وَلَّيْ تُم مُّدْبِرِينَ
Allah has already given you victory in many regions and [even] on the day of Hunayn, when your great number pleased you, but it did not avail you at all, and the earth was confining for you with its vastness; then you turned back, fleeing.
9:57
لَوْ يَجِدُ ونَ مَلْجَـًٔا أَوْ مَغَٰرَٰتٍ أَوْ مُدَّخَلًا لَّ وَلَّ وْا۟ إِلَيْ هِ وَ هُمْ يَجْمَحُ ونَ
If they could find a refuge or some caves or any place to enter [and hide], they would turn to it while they run heedlessly.
