11:116
فَ لَوْلَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْ قُرُونِ مِن قَبْلِ كُمْ أُو۟لُوا۟ بَقِيَّةٍ يَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱلْ فَسَادِ فِى ٱلْ أَرْضِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّ مَّنْ أَنجَيْ نَا مِنْ هُمْ وَ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُ وا۟ مَآ أُتْرِفُ وا۟ فِي هِ وَ كَانُ وا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
So why were there not among the generations before you those of enduring discrimination forbidding corruption on earth - except a few of those We saved from among them? But those who wronged pursued what luxury they were given therein, and they were criminals.
11:62
قَالُ وا۟ يَٰ صَٰلِحُ قَدْ كُن تَ فِي نَا مَرْجُوًّا قَبْلَ هَٰذَآ أَ تَنْهَىٰ نَآ أَن نَّعْبُدَ مَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُ نَا وَ إِنَّ نَا لَ فِى شَكٍّ مِّ مَّا تَدْعُو نَآ إِلَيْ هِ مُرِيبٍ
They said, "O Salih, you were among us a man of promise before this. Do you forbid us to worship what our fathers worshipped? And indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt."
11:88
قَالَ يَٰ قَوْمِ أَ رَءَيْ تُمْ إِن كُن تُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّ ى وَ رَزَقَ نِى مِنْ هُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَ مَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَ كُمْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنْهَىٰ كُمْ عَنْ هُ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلْ إِصْلَٰحَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْ تُ وَ مَا تَوْفِيقِ ىٓ إِلَّا بِ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْ هِ تَوَكَّلْ تُ وَ إِلَيْ هِ أُنِيبُ
He said, "O my people, have you considered: if I am upon clear evidence from my Lord and He has provided me with a good provision from Him...? And I do not intend to differ from you in that which I have forbidden you; I only intend reform as much as I am able. And my success is not but through Allah. Upon him I have relied, and to Him I return.
15:70
قَالُ وٓا۟ أَ وَ لَمْ نَنْهَ كَ عَنِ ٱلْ عَٰلَمِينَ
They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?"
16:90
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِ ٱلْ عَدْلِ وَ ٱلْ إِحْسَٰنِ وَ إِيتَآئِ ذِى ٱلْ قُرْبَىٰ وَ يَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْ فَحْشَآءِ وَ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ ٱلْ بَغْىِ يَعِظُ كُمْ لَعَلَّ كُمْ تَذَكَّرُ ونَ
Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded.
22:41
ٱلَّذِينَ إِن مَّكَّ نَّٰ هُمْ فِى ٱلْ أَرْضِ أَقَامُ وا۟ ٱل صَّلَوٰةَ وَ ءَاتَ وُا۟ ٱل زَّكَوٰةَ وَ أَمَرُ وا۟ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ نَهَ وْا۟ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ لِ لَّهِ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْ أُمُورِ
[And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give zakah and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allah belongs the outcome of [all] matters.
29:45
ٱتْلُ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْ كَ مِنَ ٱلْ كِتَٰبِ وَ أَقِمِ ٱل صَّلَوٰةَ إِنَّ ٱل صَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْ فَحْشَآءِ وَ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ لَ ذِكْرُ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ وَ ٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُ ونَ
Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do.
31:17
يَٰ بُنَىَّ أَقِمِ ٱل صَّلَوٰةَ وَ أْمُرْ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ ٱنْهَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ ٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَ كَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْ أُمُورِ
O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] determination.
3:104
وَ لْ تَكُن مِّن كُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُ ونَ إِلَى ٱلْ خَيْرِ وَ يَأْمُرُ ونَ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ يَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْ مُفْلِحُونَ
And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.
3:110
كُن تُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِ ل نَّاسِ تَأْمُرُ ونَ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ تَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ تُؤْمِنُ ونَ بِ ٱللَّهِ وَ لَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْ كِتَٰبِ لَ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَّ هُم مِّنْ هُمُ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنُونَ وَ أَكْثَرُ هُمُ ٱلْ فَٰسِقُونَ
You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.
3:114
يُؤْمِنُ ونَ بِ ٱللَّهِ وَ ٱلْ يَوْمِ ٱلْ ءَاخِرِ وَ يَأْمُرُ ونَ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ يَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ يُسَٰرِعُ ونَ فِى ٱلْ خَيْرَٰتِ وَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مِنَ ٱل صَّٰلِحِينَ
They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous.
40:66
قُلْ إِنِّ ى نُهِي تُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُ ونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَمَّا جَآءَ نِىَ ٱلْ بَيِّنَٰتُ مِن رَّبِّ ى وَ أُمِرْ تُ أَنْ أُسْلِمَ لِ رَبِّ ٱلْ عَٰلَمِينَ
Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those you call upon besides Allah once the clear proofs have come to me from my Lord, and I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds."
4:161
وَ أَخْذِ هِمُ ٱل رِّبَوٰا۟ وَ قَدْ نُهُ وا۟ عَنْ هُ وَ أَكْلِ هِمْ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱل نَّاسِ بِ ٱلْ بَٰطِلِ وَ أَعْتَدْ نَا لِ لْ كَٰفِرِينَ مِنْ هُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا
And [for] their taking of usury while they had been forbidden from it, and their consuming of the people's wealth unjustly. And we have prepared for the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.
4:31
إِن تَجْتَنِبُ وا۟ كَبَآئِرَ مَا تُنْهَ وْنَ عَنْ هُ نُكَفِّرْ عَن كُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِ كُمْ وَ نُدْخِلْ كُم مُّدْخَلًا كَرِيمًا
If you avoid the major sins which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your lesser sins and admit you to a noble entrance [into Paradise].
58:8
أَ لَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ نُهُ وا۟ عَنِ ٱل نَّجْوَىٰ ثُمَّ يَعُودُ ونَ لِ مَا نُهُ وا۟ عَنْ هُ وَ يَتَنَٰجَ وْنَ بِ ٱلْ إِثْمِ وَ ٱلْ عُدْوَٰنِ وَ مَعْصِيَتِ ٱل رَّسُولِ وَ إِذَا جَآءُ و كَ حَيَّ وْ كَ بِ مَا لَمْ يُحَيِّ كَ بِ هِ ٱللَّهُ وَ يَقُولُ ونَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِ هِمْ لَوْلَا يُعَذِّبُ نَا ٱللَّهُ بِ مَا نَقُولُ حَسْبُ هُمْ جَهَنَّمُ يَصْلَ وْنَ هَا فَ بِئْسَ ٱلْ مَصِيرُ
Have you not considered those who were forbidden from private conversation, then they return to that which they were forbidden and converse among themselves about sin and aggression and disobedience to the Messenger? And when they come to you, they greet you with that [word] by which Allah does not greet you and say among themselves, "Why does Allah not punish us for what we say?" Sufficient for them is Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the destination.
59:7
مَّآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِ هِۦ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْ قُرَىٰ فَ لِ لَّهِ وَ لِ ل رَّسُولِ وَ لِ ذِى ٱلْ قُرْبَىٰ وَ ٱلْ يَتَٰمَىٰ وَ ٱلْ مَسَٰكِينِ وَ ٱبْنِ ٱل سَّبِيلِ كَىْ لَا يَكُونَ دُولَةًۢ بَيْنَ ٱلْ أَغْنِيَآءِ مِن كُمْ وَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰ كُمُ ٱل رَّسُولُ فَ خُذُ و هُ وَ مَا نَهَىٰ كُمْ عَنْ هُ فَ ٱنتَهُ وا۟ وَ ٱتَّقُ وا۟ ٱللَّهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْ عِقَابِ
And what Allah restored to His Messenger from the people of the towns - it is for Allah and for the Messenger and for [his] near relatives and orphans and the [stranded] traveler - so that it will not be a perpetual distribution among the rich from among you. And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.
5:63
لَوْلَا يَنْهَىٰ هُمُ ٱل رَّبَّٰنِيُّونَ وَ ٱلْ أَحْبَارُ عَن قَوْلِ هِمُ ٱلْ إِثْمَ وَ أَكْلِ هِمُ ٱل سُّحْتَ لَ بِئْسَ مَا كَانُ وا۟ يَصْنَعُ ونَ
Why do the rabbis and religious scholars not forbid them from saying what is sinful and devouring what is unlawful? How wretched is what they have been practicing.
60:8
لَّا يَنْهَىٰ كُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يُقَٰتِلُ و كُمْ فِى ٱل دِّينِ وَ لَمْ يُخْرِجُ و كُم مِّن دِيَٰرِ كُمْ أَن تَبَرُّ و هُمْ وَ تُقْسِطُ وٓا۟ إِلَيْ هِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْ مُقْسِطِينَ
Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
60:9
إِنَّ مَا يَنْهَىٰ كُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ قَٰتَلُ و كُمْ فِى ٱل دِّينِ وَ أَخْرَجُ و كُم مِّن دِيَٰرِ كُمْ وَ ظَٰهَرُ وا۟ عَلَىٰٓ إِخْرَاجِ كُمْ أَن تَوَلَّ وْ هُمْ وَ مَن يَتَوَلَّ هُمْ فَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱل ظَّٰلِمُونَ
Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion - [forbids] that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers.
6:26
وَ هُمْ يَنْهَ وْنَ عَنْ هُ وَ يَنْـَٔ وْنَ عَنْ هُ وَ إِن يُهْلِكُ ونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَ هُمْ وَ مَا يَشْعُرُ ونَ
And they prevent [others] from him and are [themselves] remote from him. And they do not destroy except themselves, but they perceive [it] not.
6:28
بَلْ بَدَا لَ هُم مَّا كَانُ وا۟ يُخْفُ ونَ مِن قَبْلُ وَ لَوْ رُدُّ وا۟ لَ عَادُ وا۟ لِ مَا نُهُ وا۟ عَنْ هُ وَ إِنَّ هُمْ لَ كَٰذِبُونَ
But what they concealed before has [now] appeared to them. And even if they were returned, they would return to that which they were forbidden; and indeed, they are liars.
6:56
قُلْ إِنِّ ى نُهِي تُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُ ونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قُل لَّآ أَتَّبِعُ أَهْوَآءَ كُمْ قَدْ ضَلَلْ تُ إِذًا وَ مَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْ مُهْتَدِينَ
Say, "Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those you invoke besides Allah." Say, "I will not follow your desires, for I would then have gone astray, and I would not be of the [rightly] guided."
79:40
وَ أَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّ هِۦ وَ نَهَى ٱل نَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْ هَوَىٰ
But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,
7:157
ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُ ونَ ٱل رَّسُولَ ٱل نَّبِىَّ ٱلْ أُمِّىَّ ٱلَّذِى يَجِدُ ونَ هُۥ مَكْتُوبًا عِندَ هُمْ فِى ٱل تَّوْرَىٰةِ وَ ٱلْ إِنجِيلِ يَأْمُرُ هُم بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ يَنْهَىٰ هُمْ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ يُحِلُّ لَ هُمُ ٱل طَّيِّبَٰتِ وَ يُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْ هِمُ ٱلْ خَبَٰٓئِثَ وَ يَضَعُ عَنْ هُمْ إِصْرَ هُمْ وَ ٱلْ أَغْلَٰلَ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ عَلَيْ هِمْ فَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُ وا۟ بِ هِۦ وَ عَزَّرُ و هُ وَ نَصَرُ و هُ وَ ٱتَّبَعُ وا۟ ٱل نُّورَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ مَعَ هُۥٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْ مُفْلِحُونَ
Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.
7:165
فَ لَمَّا نَسُ وا۟ مَا ذُكِّرُ وا۟ بِ هِۦٓ أَنجَيْ نَا ٱلَّذِينَ يَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱل سُّوٓءِ وَ أَخَذْ نَا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُ وا۟ بِ عَذَابٍۭ بَـِٔيسٍۭ بِ مَا كَانُ وا۟ يَفْسُقُ ونَ
And when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged, with a wretched punishment, because they were defiantly disobeying.
7:166
فَ لَمَّا عَتَ وْا۟ عَن مَّا نُهُ وا۟ عَنْ هُ قُلْ نَا لَ هُمْ كُونُ وا۟ قِرَدَةً خَٰسِـِٔينَ
So when they were insolent about that which they had been forbidden, We said to them, "Be apes, despised."
7:20
فَ وَسْوَسَ لَ هُمَا ٱل شَّيْطَٰنُ لِ يُبْدِىَ لَ هُمَا مَا وُۥرِىَ عَنْ هُمَا مِن سَوْءَٰتِ هِمَا وَ قَالَ مَا نَهَىٰ كُمَا رَبُّ كُمَا عَنْ هَٰذِهِ ٱل شَّجَرَةِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ ا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَ ا مِنَ ٱلْ خَٰلِدِينَ
But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal."
7:22
فَ دَلَّىٰ هُمَا بِ غُرُورٍ فَ لَمَّا ذَاقَ ا ٱل شَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَ هُمَا سَوْءَٰتُ هُمَا وَ طَفِقَ ا يَخْصِفَ انِ عَلَيْ هِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلْ جَنَّةِ وَ نَادَىٰ هُمَا رَبُّ هُمَآ أَ لَمْ أَنْهَ كُمَا عَن تِلْكُمَا ٱل شَّجَرَةِ وَ أَقُل لَّ كُمَآ إِنَّ ٱل شَّيْطَٰنَ لَ كُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ
So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?"
96:9
أَ رَءَيْ تَ ٱلَّذِى يَنْهَىٰ
Have you seen the one who forbids
9:112
ٱل تَّٰٓئِبُونَ ٱلْ عَٰبِدُونَ ٱلْ حَٰمِدُونَ ٱل سَّٰٓئِحُونَ ٱل رَّٰكِعُونَ ٱل سَّٰجِدُونَ ٱلْ ءَامِرُونَ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ ٱل نَّاهُونَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ ٱلْ حَٰفِظُونَ لِ حُدُودِ ٱللَّهِ وَ بَشِّرِ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
[Such believers are] the repentant, the worshippers, the praisers [of Allah], the travelers [for His cause], those who bow and prostrate [in prayer], those who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and those who observe the limits [set by] Allah. And give good tidings to the believers.
9:67
ٱلْ مُنَٰفِقُونَ وَ ٱلْ مُنَٰفِقَٰتُ بَعْضُ هُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُ ونَ بِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ يَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ يَقْبِضُ ونَ أَيْدِيَ هُمْ نَسُ وا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَ نَسِيَ هُمْ إِنَّ ٱلْ مُنَٰفِقِينَ هُمُ ٱلْ فَٰسِقُونَ
The hypocrite men and hypocrite women are of one another. They enjoin what is wrong and forbid what is right and close their hands. They have forgotten Allah, so He has forgotten them [accordingly]. Indeed, the hypocrites - it is they who are the defiantly disobedient.
9:71
وَ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنُونَ وَ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنَٰتُ بَعْضُ هُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُ ونَ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ يَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ يُقِيمُ ونَ ٱل صَّلَوٰةَ وَ يُؤْتُ ونَ ٱل زَّكَوٰةَ وَ يُطِيعُ ونَ ٱللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَ هُۥٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ سَ يَرْحَمُ هُمُ ٱللَّهُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Those - Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
