12:58
وَ جَآءَ إِخْوَةُ يُوسُفَ فَ دَخَلُ وا۟ عَلَيْ هِ فَ عَرَفَ هُمْ وَ هُمْ لَ هُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
And the brothers of Joseph came [seeking food], and they entered upon him; and he recognized them, but he was to them unknown.
12:62
وَ قَالَ لِ فِتْيَٰنِ هِ ٱجْعَلُ وا۟ بِضَٰعَتَ هُمْ فِى رِحَالِ هِمْ لَعَلَّ هُمْ يَعْرِفُ ونَ هَآ إِذَا ٱنقَلَبُ وٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِ هِمْ لَعَلَّ هُمْ يَرْجِعُ ونَ
And [Joseph] said to his servants, "Put their merchandise into their saddlebags so they might recognize it when they have gone back to their people that perhaps they will [again] return."
16:83
يَعْرِفُ ونَ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنكِرُ ونَ هَا وَ أَكْثَرُ هُمُ ٱلْ كَٰفِرُونَ
They recognize the favor of Allah; then they deny it. And most of them are disbelievers.
22:41
ٱلَّذِينَ إِن مَّكَّ نَّٰ هُمْ فِى ٱلْ أَرْضِ أَقَامُ وا۟ ٱل صَّلَوٰةَ وَ ءَاتَ وُا۟ ٱل زَّكَوٰةَ وَ أَمَرُ وا۟ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ نَهَ وْا۟ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ لِ لَّهِ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْ أُمُورِ
[And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give zakah and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allah belongs the outcome of [all] matters.
22:72
وَ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْ هِمْ ءَايَٰتُ نَا بَيِّنَٰتٍ تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُ وا۟ ٱلْ مُنكَرَ يَكَادُ ونَ يَسْطُ ونَ بِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتْلُ ونَ عَلَيْ هِمْ ءَايَٰتِ نَا قُلْ أَ فَ أُنَبِّئُ كُم بِ شَرٍّ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱل نَّارُ وَعَدَ هَا ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُ وا۟ وَ بِئْسَ ٱلْ مَصِيرُ
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, you recognize in the faces of those who disbelieve disapproval. They are almost on the verge of assaulting those who recite to them Our verses. Say, "Then shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that? [It is] the Fire which Allah has promised those who disbelieve, and wretched is the destination."
23:69
أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُ وا۟ رَسُولَ هُمْ فَ هُمْ لَ هُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging?
24:53
وَ أَقْسَمُ وا۟ بِ ٱللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَٰنِ هِمْ لَ ئِنْ أَمَرْ تَ هُمْ لَ يَخْرُجُ نَّ قُل لَّا تُقْسِمُ وا۟ طَاعَةٌ مَّعْرُوفَةٌ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِ مَا تَعْمَلُ ونَ
And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths that if you ordered them, they would go forth [in Allah 's cause]. Say, "Do not swear. [Such] obedience is known. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with that which you do."
27:93
وَ قُلِ ٱلْ حَمْدُ لِ لَّهِ سَ يُرِي كُمْ ءَايَٰتِ هِۦ فَ تَعْرِفُ ونَ هَا وَ مَا رَبُّ كَ بِ غَٰفِلٍ عَ مَّا تَعْمَلُ ونَ
And say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allah. He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do."
2:146
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْ نَٰ هُمُ ٱلْ كِتَٰبَ يَعْرِفُ ونَ هُۥ كَ مَا يَعْرِفُ ونَ أَبْنَآءَ هُمْ وَ إِنَّ فَرِيقًا مِّنْ هُمْ لَ يَكْتُمُ ونَ ٱلْ حَقَّ وَ هُمْ يَعْلَمُ ونَ
Those to whom We gave the Scripture know him as they know their own sons. But indeed, a party of them conceal the truth while they know [it].
2:178
يَٰٓ أَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُ وا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْ كُمُ ٱلْ قِصَاصُ فِى ٱلْ قَتْلَى ٱلْ حُرُّ بِ ٱلْ حُرِّ وَ ٱلْ عَبْدُ بِ ٱلْ عَبْدِ وَ ٱلْ أُنثَىٰ بِ ٱلْ أُنثَىٰ فَ مَنْ عُفِىَ لَ هُۥ مِنْ أَخِي هِ شَىْءٌ فَ ٱتِّبَاعٌۢ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ أَدَآءٌ إِلَيْ هِ بِ إِحْسَٰنٍ ذَٰلِكَ تَخْفِيفٌ مِّن رَّبِّ كُمْ وَ رَحْمَةٌ فَ مَنِ ٱعْتَدَىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَ لَ هُۥ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
O you who have believed, prescribed for you is legal retribution for those murdered - the free for the free, the slave for the slave, and the female for the female. But whoever overlooks from his brother anything, then there should be a suitable follow-up and payment to him with good conduct. This is an alleviation from your Lord and a mercy. But whoever transgresses after that will have a painful punishment.
2:180
كُتِبَ عَلَيْ كُمْ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَ كُمُ ٱلْ مَوْتُ إِن تَرَكَ خَيْرًا ٱلْ وَصِيَّةُ لِ لْ وَٰلِدَيْنِ وَ ٱلْ أَقْرَبِينَ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلْ مُتَّقِينَ
Prescribed for you when death approaches [any] one of you if he leaves wealth [is that he should make] a bequest for the parents and near relatives according to what is acceptable - a duty upon the righteous.
2:228
وَ ٱلْ مُطَلَّقَٰتُ يَتَرَبَّصْ نَ بِ أَنفُسِ هِنَّ ثَلَٰثَةَ قُرُوٓءٍ وَ لَا يَحِلُّ لَ هُنَّ أَن يَكْتُمْ نَ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ فِىٓ أَرْحَامِ هِنَّ إِن كُ نَّ يُؤْمِ نَّ بِ ٱللَّهِ وَ ٱلْ يَوْمِ ٱلْ ءَاخِرِ وَ بُعُولَتُ هُنَّ أَحَقُّ بِ رَدِّ هِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ إِنْ أَرَادُ وٓا۟ إِصْلَٰحًا وَ لَ هُنَّ مِثْلُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَيْ هِنَّ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ لِ ل رِّجَالِ عَلَيْ هِنَّ دَرَجَةٌ وَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
Divorced women remain in waiting for three periods, and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allah has created in their wombs if they believe in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have more right to take them back in this [period] if they want reconciliation. And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority]. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
2:229
ٱل طَّلَٰقُ مَرَّتَانِ فَ إِمْسَاكٌۢ بِ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ تَسْرِيحٌۢ بِ إِحْسَٰنٍ وَ لَا يَحِلُّ لَ كُمْ أَن تَأْخُذُ وا۟ مِ مَّآ ءَاتَيْ تُمُو هُنَّ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّآ أَن يَخَافَ آ أَ لَّا يُقِيمَ ا حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِ فَ إِنْ خِفْ تُمْ أَ لَّا يُقِيمَ ا حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِ فَ لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْ هِمَا فِي مَا ٱفْتَدَتْ بِ هِۦ تِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِ فَ لَا تَعْتَدُ و هَا وَ مَن يَتَعَدَّ حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِ فَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱل ظَّٰلِمُونَ
Divorce is twice. Then, either keep [her] in an acceptable manner or release [her] with good treatment. And it is not lawful for you to take anything of what you have given them unless both fear that they will not be able to keep [within] the limits of Allah. But if you fear that they will not keep [within] the limits of Allah, then there is no blame upon either of them concerning that by which she ransoms herself. These are the limits of Allah, so do not transgress them. And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah - it is those who are the wrongdoers.
2:231
وَ إِذَا طَلَّقْ تُمُ ٱل نِّسَآءَ فَ بَلَغْ نَ أَجَلَ هُنَّ فَ أَمْسِكُ و هُنَّ بِ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ سَرِّحُ و هُنَّ بِ مَعْرُوفٍ وَ لَا تُمْسِكُ و هُنَّ ضِرَارًا لِّ تَعْتَدُ وا۟ وَ مَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَ قَدْ ظَلَمَ نَفْسَ هُۥ وَ لَا تَتَّخِذُ وٓا۟ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوًا وَ ٱذْكُرُ وا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْ كُمْ وَ مَآ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْ كُم مِّنَ ٱلْ كِتَٰبِ وَ ٱلْ حِكْمَةِ يَعِظُ كُم بِ هِۦ وَ ٱتَّقُ وا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَ ٱعْلَمُ وٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
And when you divorce women and they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them]. And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allah in jest. And remember the favor of Allah upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book and wisdom by which He instructs you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Knowing of all things.
2:232
وَ إِذَا طَلَّقْ تُمُ ٱل نِّسَآءَ فَ بَلَغْ نَ أَجَلَ هُنَّ فَ لَا تَعْضُلُ و هُنَّ أَن يَنكِحْ نَ أَزْوَٰجَ هُنَّ إِذَا تَرَٰضَ وْا۟ بَيْنَ هُم بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ ذَٰلِكَ يُوعَظُ بِ هِۦ مَن كَانَ مِن كُمْ يُؤْمِنُ بِ ٱللَّهِ وَ ٱلْ يَوْمِ ٱلْ ءَاخِرِ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَزْكَىٰ لَ كُمْ وَ أَطْهَرُ وَ ٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَ أَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُ ونَ
And when you divorce women and they have fulfilled their term, do not prevent them from remarrying their [former] husbands if they agree among themselves on an acceptable basis. That is instructed to whoever of you believes in Allah and the Last Day. That is better for you and purer, and Allah knows and you know not.
2:233
وَ ٱلْ وَٰلِدَٰتُ يُرْضِعْ نَ أَوْلَٰدَ هُنَّ حَوْلَيْنِ كَامِلَيْنِ لِ مَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يُتِمَّ ٱل رَّضَاعَةَ وَ عَلَى ٱلْ مَوْلُودِ لَ هُۥ رِزْقُ هُنَّ وَ كِسْوَتُ هُنَّ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ لَا تُكَلَّفُ نَفْسٌ إِلَّا وُسْعَ هَا لَا تُضَآرَّ وَٰلِدَةٌۢ بِ وَلَدِ هَا وَ لَا مَوْلُودٌ لَّ هُۥ بِ وَلَدِ هِۦ وَ عَلَى ٱلْ وَارِثِ مِثْلُ ذَٰلِكَ فَ إِنْ أَرَادَ ا فِصَالًا عَن تَرَاضٍ مِّنْ هُمَا وَ تَشَاوُرٍ فَ لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْ هِمَا وَ إِنْ أَرَد تُّمْ أَن تَسْتَرْضِعُ وٓا۟ أَوْلَٰدَ كُمْ فَ لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْ كُمْ إِذَا سَلَّمْ تُم مَّآ ءَاتَيْ تُم بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ ٱتَّقُ وا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَ ٱعْلَمُ وٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِ مَا تَعْمَلُ ونَ بَصِيرٌ
Mothers may breastfeed their children two complete years for whoever wishes to complete the nursing [period]. Upon the father is the mothers' provision and their clothing according to what is acceptable. No person is charged with more than his capacity. No mother should be harmed through her child, and no father through his child. And upon the [father's] heir is [a duty] like that [of the father]. And if they both desire weaning through mutual consent from both of them and consultation, there is no blame upon either of them. And if you wish to have your children nursed by a substitute, there is no blame upon you as long as you give payment according to what is acceptable. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Seeing of what you do.
2:234
وَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّ وْنَ مِن كُمْ وَ يَذَرُ ونَ أَزْوَٰجًا يَتَرَبَّصْ نَ بِ أَنفُسِ هِنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَ عَشْرًا فَ إِذَا بَلَغْ نَ أَجَلَ هُنَّ فَ لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْ كُمْ فِي مَا فَعَلْ نَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِ هِنَّ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ ٱللَّهُ بِ مَا تَعْمَلُ ونَ خَبِيرٌ
And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind - they, [the wives, shall] wait four months and ten [days]. And when they have fulfilled their term, then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in an acceptable manner. And Allah is [fully] Acquainted with what you do.
2:235
وَ لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْ كُمْ فِي مَا عَرَّضْ تُم بِ هِۦ مِنْ خِطْبَةِ ٱل نِّسَآءِ أَوْ أَكْنَن تُمْ فِىٓ أَنفُسِ كُمْ عَلِمَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّ كُمْ سَ تَذْكُرُ ونَ هُنَّ وَ لَٰكِن لَّا تُوَاعِدُ و هُنَّ سِرًّا إِلَّآ أَن تَقُولُ وا۟ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًا وَ لَا تَعْزِمُ وا۟ عُقْدَةَ ٱل نِّكَاحِ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ ٱلْ كِتَٰبُ أَجَلَ هُۥ وَ ٱعْلَمُ وٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِىٓ أَنفُسِ كُمْ فَ ٱحْذَرُ و هُ وَ ٱعْلَمُ وٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ
There is no blame upon you for that to which you [indirectly] allude concerning a proposal to women or for what you conceal within yourselves. Allah knows that you will have them in mind. But do not promise them secretly except for saying a proper saying. And do not determine to undertake a marriage contract until the decreed period reaches its end. And know that Allah knows what is within yourselves, so beware of Him. And know that Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.
2:236
لَّا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْ كُمْ إِن طَلَّقْ تُمُ ٱل نِّسَآءَ مَا لَمْ تَمَسُّ و هُنَّ أَوْ تَفْرِضُ وا۟ لَ هُنَّ فَرِيضَةً وَ مَتِّعُ و هُنَّ عَلَى ٱلْ مُوسِعِ قَدَرُ هُۥ وَ عَلَى ٱلْ مُقْتِرِ قَدَرُ هُۥ مَتَٰعًۢا بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلْ مُحْسِنِينَ
There is no blame upon you if you divorce women you have not touched nor specified for them an obligation. But give them [a gift of] compensation - the wealthy according to his capability and the poor according to his capability - a provision according to what is acceptable, a duty upon the doers of good.
2:240
وَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّ وْنَ مِن كُمْ وَ يَذَرُ ونَ أَزْوَٰجًا وَصِيَّةً لِّ أَزْوَٰجِ هِم مَّتَٰعًا إِلَى ٱلْ حَوْلِ غَيْرَ إِخْرَاجٍ فَ إِنْ خَرَجْ نَ فَ لَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْ كُمْ فِى مَا فَعَلْ نَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِ هِنَّ مِن مَّعْرُوفٍ وَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind - for their wives is a bequest: maintenance for one year without turning [them] out. But if they leave [of their own accord], then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in an acceptable way. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
2:241
وَ لِ لْ مُطَلَّقَٰتِ مَتَٰعٌۢ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلْ مُتَّقِينَ
And for divorced women is a provision according to what is acceptable - a duty upon the righteous.
2:263
قَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوفٌ وَ مَغْفِرَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن صَدَقَةٍ يَتْبَعُ هَآ أَذًى وَ ٱللَّهُ غَنِىٌّ حَلِيمٌ
Kind speech and forgiveness are better than charity followed by injury. And Allah is Free of need and Forbearing.
2:273
لِ لْ فُقَرَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أُحْصِرُ وا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ ونَ ضَرْبًا فِى ٱلْ أَرْضِ يَحْسَبُ هُمُ ٱلْ جَاهِلُ أَغْنِيَآءَ مِنَ ٱل تَّعَفُّفِ تَعْرِفُ هُم بِ سِيمَٰ هُمْ لَا يَسْـَٔلُ ونَ ٱل نَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا وَ مَا تُنفِقُ وا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِ هِۦ عَلِيمٌ
[Charity is] for the poor who have been restricted for the cause of Allah, unable to move about in the land. An ignorant [person] would think them self-sufficient because of their restraint, but you will know them by their [characteristic] sign. They do not ask people persistently [or at all]. And whatever you spend of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.
2:89
وَ لَمَّا جَآءَ هُمْ كِتَٰبٌ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّ مَا مَعَ هُمْ وَ كَانُ وا۟ مِن قَبْلُ يَسْتَفْتِحُ ونَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُ وا۟ فَ لَمَّا جَآءَ هُم مَّا عَرَفُ وا۟ كَفَرُ وا۟ بِ هِۦ فَ لَعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلْ كَٰفِرِينَ
And when there came to them a Book from Allah confirming that which was with them - although before they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieved - but [then] when there came to them that which they recognized, they disbelieved in it; so the curse of Allah will be upon the disbelievers.
31:15
وَ إِن جَٰهَدَ ا كَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُشْرِكَ بِ ى مَا لَيْسَ لَ كَ بِ هِۦ عِلْمٌ فَ لَا تُطِعْ هُمَا وَ صَاحِبْ هُمَا فِى ٱل دُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا وَ ٱتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَىَّ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُ كُمْ فَ أُنَبِّئُ كُم بِ مَا كُن تُمْ تَعْمَلُ ونَ
But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.
31:17
يَٰ بُنَىَّ أَقِمِ ٱل صَّلَوٰةَ وَ أْمُرْ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ ٱنْهَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ ٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَ كَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْ أُمُورِ
O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] determination.
33:32
يَٰ نِسَآءَ ٱل نَّبِىِّ لَسْ تُنَّ كَ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ ٱل نِّسَآءِ إِنِ ٱتَّقَيْ تُنَّ فَ لَا تَخْضَعْ نَ بِ ٱلْ قَوْلِ فَ يَطْمَعَ ٱلَّذِى فِى قَلْبِ هِۦ مَرَضٌ وَ قُلْ نَ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًا
O wives of the Prophet, you are not like anyone among women. If you fear Allah, then do not be soft in speech [to men], lest he in whose heart is disease should covet, but speak with appropriate speech.
33:59
يَٰٓ أَيُّهَا ٱل نَّبِىُّ قُل لِّ أَزْوَٰجِ كَ وَ بَنَاتِ كَ وَ نِسَآءِ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِي نَ عَلَيْ هِنَّ مِن جَلَٰبِيبِ هِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن يُعْرَفْ نَ فَ لَا يُؤْذَيْ نَ وَ كَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا
O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
33:6
ٱل نَّبِىُّ أَوْلَىٰ بِ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنفُسِ هِمْ وَ أَزْوَٰجُ هُۥٓ أُمَّهَٰتُ هُمْ وَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْ أَرْحَامِ بَعْضُ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِ بَعْضٍ فِى كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنِينَ وَ ٱلْ مُهَٰجِرِينَ إِلَّآ أَن تَفْعَلُ وٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَوْلِيَآئِ كُم مَّعْرُوفًا كَانَ ذَٰلِكَ فِى ٱلْ كِتَٰبِ مَسْطُورًا
The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his wives are [in the position of] their mothers. And those of [blood] relationship are more entitled [to inheritance] in the decree of Allah than the [other] believers and the emigrants, except that you may do to your close associates a kindness [through bequest]. That was in the Book inscribed.
3:104
وَ لْ تَكُن مِّن كُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُ ونَ إِلَى ٱلْ خَيْرِ وَ يَأْمُرُ ونَ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ يَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْ مُفْلِحُونَ
And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.
3:110
كُن تُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِ ل نَّاسِ تَأْمُرُ ونَ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ تَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ تُؤْمِنُ ونَ بِ ٱللَّهِ وَ لَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْ كِتَٰبِ لَ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَّ هُم مِّنْ هُمُ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنُونَ وَ أَكْثَرُ هُمُ ٱلْ فَٰسِقُونَ
You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.
3:114
يُؤْمِنُ ونَ بِ ٱللَّهِ وَ ٱلْ يَوْمِ ٱلْ ءَاخِرِ وَ يَأْمُرُ ونَ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ يَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ يُسَٰرِعُ ونَ فِى ٱلْ خَيْرَٰتِ وَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مِنَ ٱل صَّٰلِحِينَ
They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous.
47:21
طَاعَةٌ وَ قَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوفٌ فَ إِذَا عَزَمَ ٱلْ أَمْرُ فَ لَوْ صَدَقُ وا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَّ هُمْ
Obedience and good words. And when the matter [of fighting] was determined, if they had been true to Allah, it would have been better for them.
47:30
وَ لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَ أَرَيْ نَٰ كَ هُمْ فَ لَ عَرَفْ تَ هُم بِ سِيمَٰ هُمْ وَ لَ تَعْرِفَ نَّ هُمْ فِى لَحْنِ ٱلْ قَوْلِ وَ ٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ أَعْمَٰلَ كُمْ
And if We willed, We could show them to you, and you would know them by their mark; but you will surely know them by the tone of [their] speech. And Allah knows your deeds.
4:114
لَّا خَيْرَ فِى كَثِيرٍ مِّن نَّجْوَىٰ هُمْ إِلَّا مَنْ أَمَرَ بِ صَدَقَةٍ أَوْ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ إِصْلَٰحٍۭ بَيْنَ ٱل نَّاسِ وَ مَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ ٱبْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ ٱللَّهِ فَ سَوْفَ نُؤْتِي هِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا
No good is there in much of their private conversation, except for those who enjoin charity or that which is right or conciliation between people. And whoever does that seeking means to the approval of Allah - then We are going to give him a great reward.
4:19
يَٰٓ أَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُ وا۟ لَا يَحِلُّ لَ كُمْ أَن تَرِثُ وا۟ ٱل نِّسَآءَ كَرْهًا وَ لَا تَعْضُلُ و هُنَّ لِ تَذْهَبُ وا۟ بِ بَعْضِ مَآ ءَاتَيْ تُمُو هُنَّ إِلَّآ أَن يَأْتِي نَ بِ فَٰحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ وَ عَاشِرُ و هُنَّ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ فَ إِن كَرِهْ تُمُو هُنَّ فَ عَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكْرَهُ وا۟ شَيْـًٔا وَ يَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ فِي هِ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا
O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality. And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.
4:25
وَ مَن لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ مِن كُمْ طَوْلًا أَن يَنكِحَ ٱلْ مُحْصَنَٰتِ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنَٰتِ فَ مِن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُ كُم مِّن فَتَيَٰتِ كُمُ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَ ٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِ إِيمَٰنِ كُم بَعْضُ كُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ فَ ٱنكِحُ و هُنَّ بِ إِذْنِ أَهْلِ هِنَّ وَ ءَاتُ و هُنَّ أُجُورَ هُنَّ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ مُحْصَنَٰتٍ غَيْرَ مُسَٰفِحَٰتٍ وَ لَا مُتَّخِذَٰتِ أَخْدَانٍ فَ إِذَآ أُحْصِ نَّ فَ إِنْ أَتَيْ نَ بِ فَٰحِشَةٍ فَ عَلَيْ هِنَّ نِصْفُ مَا عَلَى ٱلْ مُحْصَنَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلْ عَذَابِ ذَٰلِكَ لِ مَنْ خَشِىَ ٱلْ عَنَتَ مِن كُمْ وَ أَن تَصْبِرُ وا۟ خَيْرٌ لَّ كُمْ وَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
And whoever among you cannot [find] the means to marry free, believing women, then [he may marry] from those whom your right hands possess of believing slave girls. And Allah is most knowing about your faith. You [believers] are of one another. So marry them with the permission of their people and give them their due compensation according to what is acceptable. [They should be] chaste, neither [of] those who commit unlawful intercourse randomly nor those who take [secret] lovers. But once they are sheltered in marriage, if they should commit adultery, then for them is half the punishment for free [unmarried] women. This [allowance] is for him among you who fears sin, but to be patient is better for you. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
4:5
وَ لَا تُؤْتُ وا۟ ٱل سُّفَهَآءَ أَمْوَٰلَ كُمُ ٱلَّتِى جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَ كُمْ قِيَٰمًا وَ ٱرْزُقُ و هُمْ فِي هَا وَ ٱكْسُ و هُمْ وَ قُولُ وا۟ لَ هُمْ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًا
And do not give the weak-minded your property, which Allah has made a means of sustenance for you, but provide for them with it and clothe them and speak to them words of appropriate kindness.
4:6
وَ ٱبْتَلُ وا۟ ٱلْ يَتَٰمَىٰ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغُ وا۟ ٱل نِّكَاحَ فَ إِنْ ءَانَسْ تُم مِّنْ هُمْ رُشْدًا فَ ٱدْفَعُ وٓا۟ إِلَيْ هِمْ أَمْوَٰلَ هُمْ وَ لَا تَأْكُلُ و هَآ إِسْرَافًا وَ بِدَارًا أَن يَكْبَرُ وا۟ وَ مَن كَانَ غَنِيًّا فَ لْ يَسْتَعْفِفْ وَ مَن كَانَ فَقِيرًا فَ لْ يَأْكُلْ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ فَ إِذَا دَفَعْ تُمْ إِلَيْ هِمْ أَمْوَٰلَ هُمْ فَ أَشْهِدُ وا۟ عَلَيْ هِمْ وَ كَفَىٰ بِ ٱللَّهِ حَسِيبًا
And test the orphans [in their abilities] until they reach marriageable age. Then if you perceive in them sound judgement, release their property to them. And do not consume it excessively and quickly, [anticipating] that they will grow up. And whoever, [when acting as guardian], is self-sufficient should refrain [from taking a fee]; and whoever is poor - let him take according to what is acceptable. Then when you release their property to them, bring witnesses upon them. And sufficient is Allah as Accountant.
4:8
وَ إِذَا حَضَرَ ٱلْ قِسْمَةَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْ قُرْبَىٰ وَ ٱلْ يَتَٰمَىٰ وَ ٱلْ مَسَٰكِينُ فَ ٱرْزُقُ و هُم مِّنْ هُ وَ قُولُ وا۟ لَ هُمْ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًا
And when [other] relatives and orphans and the needy are present at the [time of] division, then provide for them [something] out of the estate and speak to them words of appropriate kindness.
55:41
يُعْرَفُ ٱلْ مُجْرِمُونَ بِ سِيمَٰ هُمْ فَ يُؤْخَذُ بِ ٱل نَّوَٰصِى وَ ٱلْ أَقْدَامِ
The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.
5:83
وَ إِذَا سَمِعُ وا۟ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَى ٱل رَّسُولِ تَرَىٰٓ أَعْيُنَ هُمْ تَفِيضُ مِنَ ٱل دَّمْعِ مِ مَّا عَرَفُ وا۟ مِنَ ٱلْ حَقِّ يَقُولُ ونَ رَبَّ نَآ ءَامَ نَّا فَ ٱكْتُبْ نَا مَعَ ٱل شَّٰهِدِينَ
And when they hear what has been revealed to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of what they have recognized of the truth. They say, "Our Lord, we have believed, so register us among the witnesses.
60:12
يَٰٓ أَيُّهَا ٱل نَّبِىُّ إِذَا جَآءَ كَ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنَٰتُ يُبَايِعْ نَ كَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن لَّا يُشْرِكْ نَ بِ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا وَ لَا يَسْرِقْ نَ وَ لَا يَزْنِي نَ وَ لَا يَقْتُلْ نَ أَوْلَٰدَ هُنَّ وَ لَا يَأْتِي نَ بِ بُهْتَٰنٍ يَفْتَرِي نَ هُۥ بَيْنَ أَيْدِي هِنَّ وَ أَرْجُلِ هِنَّ وَ لَا يَعْصِي نَ كَ فِى مَعْرُوفٍ فَ بَايِعْ هُنَّ وَ ٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَ هُنَّ ٱللَّهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
O Prophet, when the believing women come to you pledging to you that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor will they steal, nor will they commit unlawful sexual intercourse, nor will they kill their children, nor will they bring forth a slander they have invented between their arms and legs, nor will they disobey you in what is right - then accept their pledge and ask forgiveness for them of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
65:2
فَ إِذَا بَلَغْ نَ أَجَلَ هُنَّ فَ أَمْسِكُ و هُنَّ بِ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ فَارِقُ و هُنَّ بِ مَعْرُوفٍ وَ أَشْهِدُ وا۟ ذَوَىْ عَدْلٍ مِّن كُمْ وَ أَقِيمُ وا۟ ٱل شَّهَٰدَةَ لِ لَّهِ ذَٰلِكُمْ يُوعَظُ بِ هِۦ مَن كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِ ٱللَّهِ وَ ٱلْ يَوْمِ ٱلْ ءَاخِرِ وَ مَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّ هُۥ مَخْرَجًا
And when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or part with them according to acceptable terms. And bring to witness two just men from among you and establish the testimony for [the acceptance of] Allah. That is instructed to whoever should believe in Allah and the Last day. And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out
65:6
أَسْكِنُ و هُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ سَكَن تُم مِّن وُجْدِ كُمْ وَ لَا تُضَآرُّ و هُنَّ لِ تُضَيِّقُ وا۟ عَلَيْ هِنَّ وَ إِن كُ نَّ أُو۟لَٰتِ حَمْلٍ فَ أَنفِقُ وا۟ عَلَيْ هِنَّ حَتَّىٰ يَضَعْ نَ حَمْلَ هُنَّ فَ إِنْ أَرْضَعْ نَ لَ كُمْ فَ ـَٔاتُ و هُنَّ أُجُورَ هُنَّ وَ أْتَمِرُ وا۟ بَيْنَ كُم بِ مَعْرُوفٍ وَ إِن تَعَاسَرْ تُمْ فَ سَ تُرْضِعُ لَ هُۥٓ أُخْرَىٰ
Lodge them [in a section] of where you dwell out of your means and do not harm them in order to oppress them. And if they should be pregnant, then spend on them until they give birth. And if they breastfeed for you, then give them their payment and confer among yourselves in the acceptable way; but if you are in discord, then there may breastfeed for the father another woman.
6:20
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْ نَٰ هُمُ ٱلْ كِتَٰبَ يَعْرِفُ ونَ هُۥ كَ مَا يَعْرِفُ ونَ أَبْنَآءَ هُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُ وٓا۟ أَنفُسَ هُمْ فَ هُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُ ونَ
Those to whom We have given the Scripture recognize it as they recognize their [own] sons. Those who will lose themselves [in the Hereafter] do not believe.
7:157
ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُ ونَ ٱل رَّسُولَ ٱل نَّبِىَّ ٱلْ أُمِّىَّ ٱلَّذِى يَجِدُ ونَ هُۥ مَكْتُوبًا عِندَ هُمْ فِى ٱل تَّوْرَىٰةِ وَ ٱلْ إِنجِيلِ يَأْمُرُ هُم بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ يَنْهَىٰ هُمْ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ يُحِلُّ لَ هُمُ ٱل طَّيِّبَٰتِ وَ يُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْ هِمُ ٱلْ خَبَٰٓئِثَ وَ يَضَعُ عَنْ هُمْ إِصْرَ هُمْ وَ ٱلْ أَغْلَٰلَ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ عَلَيْ هِمْ فَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُ وا۟ بِ هِۦ وَ عَزَّرُ و هُ وَ نَصَرُ و هُ وَ ٱتَّبَعُ وا۟ ٱل نُّورَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ مَعَ هُۥٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْ مُفْلِحُونَ
Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.
7:46
وَ بَيْنَ هُمَا حِجَابٌ وَ عَلَى ٱلْ أَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَعْرِفُ ونَ كُلًّۢا بِ سِيمَىٰ هُمْ وَ نَادَ وْا۟ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْ جَنَّةِ أَن سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْ كُمْ لَمْ يَدْخُلُ و هَا وَ هُمْ يَطْمَعُ ونَ
And between them will be a partition, and on [its] elevations are men who recognize all by their mark. And they call out to the companions of Paradise, "Peace be upon you." They have not [yet] entered it, but they long intensely.
7:48
وَ نَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْ أَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُ ونَ هُم بِ سِيمَىٰ هُمْ قَالُ وا۟ مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَن كُمْ جَمْعُ كُمْ وَ مَا كُن تُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُ ونَ
And the companions of the Elevations will call to men [within Hell] whom they recognize by their mark, saying, "Of no avail to you was your gathering and [the fact] that you were arrogant."
83:24
تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِ هِمْ نَضْرَةَ ٱل نَّعِيمِ
You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure.
9:112
ٱل تَّٰٓئِبُونَ ٱلْ عَٰبِدُونَ ٱلْ حَٰمِدُونَ ٱل سَّٰٓئِحُونَ ٱل رَّٰكِعُونَ ٱل سَّٰجِدُونَ ٱلْ ءَامِرُونَ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ ٱل نَّاهُونَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ ٱلْ حَٰفِظُونَ لِ حُدُودِ ٱللَّهِ وَ بَشِّرِ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
[Such believers are] the repentant, the worshippers, the praisers [of Allah], the travelers [for His cause], those who bow and prostrate [in prayer], those who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and those who observe the limits [set by] Allah. And give good tidings to the believers.
9:67
ٱلْ مُنَٰفِقُونَ وَ ٱلْ مُنَٰفِقَٰتُ بَعْضُ هُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُ ونَ بِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ يَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ يَقْبِضُ ونَ أَيْدِيَ هُمْ نَسُ وا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَ نَسِيَ هُمْ إِنَّ ٱلْ مُنَٰفِقِينَ هُمُ ٱلْ فَٰسِقُونَ
The hypocrite men and hypocrite women are of one another. They enjoin what is wrong and forbid what is right and close their hands. They have forgotten Allah, so He has forgotten them [accordingly]. Indeed, the hypocrites - it is they who are the defiantly disobedient.
9:71
وَ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنُونَ وَ ٱلْ مُؤْمِنَٰتُ بَعْضُ هُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُ ونَ بِ ٱلْ مَعْرُوفِ وَ يَنْهَ وْنَ عَنِ ٱلْ مُنكَرِ وَ يُقِيمُ ونَ ٱل صَّلَوٰةَ وَ يُؤْتُ ونَ ٱل زَّكَوٰةَ وَ يُطِيعُ ونَ ٱللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَ هُۥٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ سَ يَرْحَمُ هُمُ ٱللَّهُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Those - Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
